Our Story

Origaudio was founded in 2009 by Jason Lucash and Mike Szymczak, two college friends with a shared passion for music. As touring musicians, they were frustrated by the lack of durable, portable speakers on the market. So they decided to design their own.

Using recycled materials from vintage electronics, Jason and Mike built the first OrigAudio speaker in Jason’s basement. They were amazed by the incredible sound that came from such humble beginnings. Soon after, they launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund production. Origaudio quickly exceeded its fundraising goal and began taking pre-orders.

Since those early days, Origaudio has grown into a leader in portable audio. But our roots in sustainability remain strong. We still make many products using upcycled materials, reducing waste. And we partner with organizations that support music education and environmental conservation.
